Call for Proposals
PPTELL 2023 sincerely invites extended abstract submissions within 500 words that show originality based on theoretical or practical works focusing on emerging technology in EMI and language learning contexts. We encourage contributors to consider the following topics related to the following themes, but not limited to:
A. Technology in language learning and EMI courses: Teaching issues
- Theoretical basis of technology-enhanced language learning/EMI courses
- Technology for language learning/emerging technologies in EMI courses
- Innovations in technology-enhanced language learning/EMI courses
- Computer-supported cooperative learning for technology-enhanced language learning/ EMI courses
- Testing and evaluation of technology-enhanced language learning/EMI courses
- Course content and language balance in EMI courses
- Teaching knowledge of technology-promoted language learning/EMI courses
B. Technology in language learning and EMI courses: Learning issues
- Learners’ Cognition and Emotion in technology-enhanced language learning/EMI courses
- Independent learning in technology-enhanced language learning/EMI courses
- Action learning in technology-enhanced language learning/EMI courses
C. Technology in language learning and EMI courses: Administration issues
- Policy impact and adjustment of EMI teaching
- School support for technology-enhanced language learning/EMI courses
- Administration and finance for technology-enhanced language learning/EMI courses
D. Other issues related to technology-enhanced language learning in diverse contexts, including EMI.
Types of presentations
Research Papers
The presentations should report on original research related to TELL and/or EMI. The duration of a presentation is 20 minutes, including time for discussion.
Posters
Presentations should contain images and information that attendees can read and can be explained by the presenters. The duration of a poster session is one hour. Presenters should be present for the duration of their scheduled time.
Submission Guidelines
Abstracts should be submitted in both MS Word and PDF formats online to Upload abstract (in PDF version / MS Word version). Please sign up to the system and upload your abstract following the instructions provided. Please note that this Upload abstract link does NOT connect to the conference registration system. This means that you would have signed up twice with the same username and password. We apologize for the inconvenience that this may have caused.
Prior to submission, please read and follow the conference templates (PDF version / MS Word version) carefully. Submissions must not be published previously. All the submissions will be double-blind peer-reviewed. The review will focus on whether the work is original and of good quality through theoretical and empirical methods.
Conference paper publication
A special issue call in parallel with the PPTELL 2023 conference will soon be available. This special issue will be published in the Language Education and Assessment journal (https://castledown.au/
